Welcome to Comic Reading Order.com! The purpose of this website is simply to provide easy-to-follow reading orders for my favorite comic books. I know there are already plenty of websites with very comprehensive reading orders out there, as well as lists covering certain storylines or characters, but I wanted to do something simpler. The lists on this website are presented in an order where all references to older magazines make sense. On this site, the issues will be sorted by year and month in an order that follows a logical publication timeline.
I got the idea for the site when I started reading through Marvel Unlimited’s vast catalogue and found myself jumping back and forth between issues because it wasn’t always mentioned at the end of an issue where the storyline would continue. Especially in the early days, the stories and characters would move from one magazine to another quite randomly.
At the moment, I’m concentrating on putting together a Marvel Unlimited reading order, but I also intend to list other issues such as Marvel’s MAX comics that are not included in MU, as well as comics from other publishers. In the MU lists, I’ll also mention the most important characters/concepts introduced in each issue and give recommendations of the best issues to read. As expected, not all the early superhero stories from the 60s are pure gold, so unless you’re a hardcore Marvel fan, I suggest just reading the origin stories and selected classic issues from the first (ten) years.
